Your dentist will examine your teeth and gums to make the determination.<\/p>\n<h2>Symptoms of gum disease<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Gums that bleed when you floss or brush your teeth<\/li>\n<li>Inflamed or sore gums<\/li>\n<li>Gums that are receding, or pulling away from the teeth<\/li>\n<li>Persistent bad breath<\/li>\n<li>Pus between the teeth and gums<\/li>\n<li>Loose teeth<\/li>\n<li>A change in your bite\u2014the way your teeth fit together<\/li>\n<li>An increase in the space between your teeth<\/li>\n<li>A partial denture that no longer fits correctly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Inadequate brushing and flossing your teeth, genetics, certain illnesses, and certain medications can make you more susceptible to gum disease. Regular brushing and flossing, as well as regular exams by your dentist and dental cleanings can help prevent gum disease.<\/p>\n<p>If you think you have gum disease, make an appointment with <a href=\"https:\/\/delaunedental.com\/best-dentist-in-new-orleans.html\">your dentist<\/a>. Early detection makes it easier to control the gum disease and save your teeth.
