Although it’s possible to have an infection after wisdom teeth removal, it usually occurs at the gum incision. If there is an infection at the site of a non-impacted tooth, the infection would drain through the opening, allowing healing without complications.<\/p>\n

However, if a piece of a tooth or a root remains in the socket, it is at risk of infection even if your gum tissue heals over it.<\/p>\n

What Happens If a Tooth Breaks During an Extraction?<\/h2>\n
