A dental implant replaces a missing tooth, from the root of the tooth to its crown. It mimics the structure of a natural tooth. It has a root form, made of titanium, that is surgically implanted in your jawbone, and after the jawbone heals around it, a replacement tooth is secured on top of the root form. Each of your teeth can be individually replaced with a dental implant, or your dentures can be secured using as few as two dental implants. With the All-on-4 technique, sometimes referred to as the profile denture, four implants are placed in the anterior of your jawbone. The denture is secured to the implants.
